B.E.

2026

B.E. (Butterfly Effect) continues the reflection that began with The Land of Scars. In that earlier project, This project focused on the people who left marks on Musco‘s life—the individuals whose presence shaped his personal and artistic path.

In B.E., the perspective shifts to a different question: what if those encounters had never happened?

The project draws inspiration from the Butterfly Effect, the idea that a small event—such as the flutter of a butterfly’s wings—can eventually generate a hurricane thousands of miles away. A seemingly minor moment can travel across distance and time to produce vast and unexpected consequences.

This principle also informed the structure of the project itself. The first photographic session took place in Australia, one of the most distant points from New York, where the work was ultimately completed. The project therefore unfolds across continents, echoing the same idea of cause and consequence traveling across great distances.

Within the images, thousands of photographed human bodies are woven together into monumental compositions that resemble waves and currents. Each body becomes a small gesture within a larger movement—an individual presence contributing to a collective force.

B.E. (Butterfly Effect) reflects on how the smallest encounter can ripple outward through time and geography, shaping the invisible architecture of human life.
