B.E. by Angelo Musco

Butterfly Effect emerged as a direct response to Angelo Musco’s previous project, Land of Scars - 2026

Land of Scars was created from the people who entered Musco’s life and became the subjects of the work. Once the project was completed, a new question began to surface: What would his life have been without those encounters?Without those particular people, Land of Scars itself would not exist. But beyond the artwork, who would he have become? What different paths might he have taken had even one of those encounters never occurred?

That question opened the way to the butterfly effect—the idea that something as slight as the vibration of a butterfly’s wings can initiate a chain of events that, across time and distance, may eventually contribute to the formation of a hurricane. The people of Land of Scars became, metaphorically, those butterflies: individual encounters whose presence altered a trajectory and generated consequences impossible to foresee when they first occurred.

In B.E. – Butterfly Effect, that invisible chain of cause and consequence becomes visible through waves.

Thousands of individual bodies gather, intertwine and dissolve into immense moving forces. One body, like one encounter, may appear almost insignificant within the whole, yet every presence contributes to the formation and direction of the wave. What begins with the individual expands outward, accumulating energy until it becomes something monumental.

In this way, B.E. – Butterfly Effect becomes both a continuation and an answer to Land of Scars: from the people who shaped a personal history to the forces their presence set into motion.

This video presents works from the B.E. – Butterfly Effect series together with renderings that envision the photographs at an architectural scale.
